Composite Decking is essentially plastic. Some manufacturers use an outer shell of pure polyethylene (the same stuff used in water bottles), while others blend the plastic in with the wood flour (ground up wood product). Plastic is notorious for retaining heat and getting very hot in direct sunlight.
Composite decking typically consists of some type of plastic material, such as polyethylene and/or polyvinyl chloride, and wood particles. The plastic may be from recycled products, like milk jugs and soda bottles, or it might be made of virgin plastic.
We make Seventrust ® eco-friendly composite decks from an innovative blend of 95% recycled wood and plastic film—that’s almost the whole thing. On top of that, our company uses some of the most earth-friendly manufacturing processes in the country, reclaiming factory waste and eliminating the use of harmful chemicals.
There are a few exceptions, but most composite wood plastic decking and fencing products on the market are made from Polyethylene (PE) or Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC). Polyethylene (the most widely used plastic) comes in various forms, including Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) and High Density Polyethylene (HDPE).
Composite Decking Looks And Feels Good. The use of plastic helps to protect the wood from moisture and makes the decking resistant to insect infestation. The wood in Seventrust decking keeps the plastic from being damaged by the UV rays of the sun and provides a natural look and feel to the composite decking.
Many customs rank material, and use, and surface, and length, function as the most important factor, Used composite decking is always made of pvc, wpc, wood plastic composite or wood + hdpe +additives. it is used for lawn, engineer project, garden, outdoor wpc decking, garage, corridor, pool or balcony.
Composite Decks. It is manufactured using a combination of wood fiber and plastic. The planks are designed to look like wood, although most people can tell the difference between natural wood and composite. Even with a composite deck, the load-bearing supports are made of natural wood because it is sturdier.
Maintenance demands of wood decking are not required with composite decking. Composite decking is made from recycled materials (plastic and wood), and most are now encapsulated with an outer layer. This creates a hard, exterior shell that protects from stain, mildew, scratching, insects, UV fading, and more.
PVC decking and high-performance composite deck boards ( those that fully encapsulate wood fibers in plastic) have exceptional moisture resistance. They can be installed in applications with direct water contact like docks and pool surrounds and in regions with heavy rain...
Composite decking manufacturers such as Seventrust use recycled materials in their products. Seventrust claims that much of its plastic comes from 1.5 billion plastic shopping bags, or about 7 out of every 10 in the US. They also don't use any virgin wood, using mill waste and old pallets instead.
